Christopher and the CP94 team have made the decision to race the 2nd annual Baja 400 on September 18th 2021! The Baja 400 is put on by SCORE International. The 400 is a newer race which began in 2019 and is an important one because the finish order of the Baja 400 determines the start order of the Baja 1000 which the CP94 team will also be adding to the 6100 Spec Trophy Truck schedule.
Qualifying Wednesday 9/15 Christopher qualified Wednesday 9/15 in his Optima Batteries powered Ford Raptor 6100 Spec Trophy Truck. The qualifying course was a 5 mile loop that had wide open straight aways, jumps, tight technical sections and everything in between. CP & his best friend / Co-Driver, Bryce Romine, ran hard in qualifying and took the top spot in the 6100 Spec Trophy Truck class. With a lap time of 8:27 he finished nearly 10 seconds faster than runner up with a time of 8:36. Christopher and Bryce will stage for the start of the Baja 400 at 9:00AM (PDT) 9/18/21. The 6100 class starts behind Trophy Truck, Trophy Truck Legends, and Class 1 Buggy so The CP's Ford / Optima / STEEL-IT 6100 will be #31 off the line. About Christopher Polvoorde & CP Racing Team
Christopher Polvoorde was born on July 28th, 2000 and raised in the Racing mecca of Southern, CA. From a young age, Christopher had an adventurous spirit and a passion for the outdoors and racing. That passion leads Christopher’s life to this day where you can find him chasing sunsets year around on the hills of Mammoth Mt or the waters of the Colorado River. Surrounded by a team of Experts including Christopher’s father, Chip Polvoorde, who handles anything and everything, Crew Chief Jimmy Davidson who provides the fastest truck on the course week in and week out and driving coach Cory Kruseman who works with Christopher on his race craft and as his race spotter. With Christopher’s natural speed and a team like this, expectations are high. Christopher found success in a challenging 2020 season taking 2nd in the LOORRS Pro Lite Championship showcasing the team's continued determination to strive for greatness each and every race. In 2019 the CP94 team raced in both, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and the Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League for where Christopher swept the whole series winning all 7 races and the additional Red Bull Pro Lite Championship race making it a perfect 8 for 8 in the Midwest. The future is bright for Christopher who takes it all in stride focusing on working hard and enjoying the ride.
