Christopher Polvoorde Kicks Off Season With Top 5

Chandler, AZ

At the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, 4 Wheel Parts Duel in the Desert presented by Rockstar Energy at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, AZ, Christopher Polvoorde showed his speed when he took the early lead during the Pro Light heat race. He held that lead for half the race until some fender banging action put him back to a 5th place finish. His performance was right where he left off last season. In 2017 he finished just a few points out from the championship podium in fourth place. He also earned his second Rookie of the Year honor to go with his three previous championships.

“We qualified 4th, and after the inversion we started 3rd,” said Christopher, “By turn 2 I had the STEEL-ITPro Light in the lead. We are on General Tire Grabber X3’s this year and they really give me an edge. The track usually starts out wet, and slick. Then it gets tacky, and eventually dry and slick. In all three conditions, the X3’s get the same great traction for the entire race. These tires just hook up!

We had a great race going and led the race until the caution came out. On the re-start, I got pushed out wide and went back to 3rd. We started passing lapped traffic and I had to take a different line.

I got a little sideways and got pushed even more sideways. The track was getting really rough, but we were able to finish the race in 5th. Wild Horse Pass has always been a tough luck track for us. It felt really good to jump right out into the lead, and have a solid finish. Our truck is running a whole new package and it was really fast. We are excited to get to Mexico for the next round and see how we do for STEEL-IT, TIS Wheels, General Tire, The Palms River Resort, King Shocks, Simpson, Optima Batteries, Magnaflow, Rugged Radios, Camburg Racing, and KC Hilites.”

This year Christopher has expanded his program with the addition of new sponsors STEEL-IT, TIS Wheels, and General Tire. A near identical twin to his race truck is also part of the team’s stable. It has two seats on board to be used for VIP/Giveaway, and Media rides at Lucas Oil events.

When Christopher is back on the track at the 4th Annual Rockstar Energy Battle South of the Border at the Estero Beach Resort in Ensenada, Mexico on Saturday May 19th, be sure to stop by the booth to check out some of the latest products and info.
