Christopher Polvoorde Came out Swinging for the LOORRS Season Opener at Glen Helen RacewayThe 2020

After a 4 month delay of the off road short course season due to COVID-19, Lucas Oil decided to move forward with the 2020 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) which was originally set to kick off back in March.  Christopher was finally able to unveil his new Livery for 2020 and the big news of Ford Motor Company & Ford Performance being the title sponsor for the race team this year!

Saturday 7/25 - Round 1

Christopher had a great qualifying session with the 2nd fastest lap time Saturday afternoon and after an inversion of 4 (meaning the top 4 flip) Christopher was set to start the race P.3 which is right where he likes to be on this track.  Race time was about 3:30pm and the Pro Lite Season was officially underway. Christopher had a very exciting race with him and Brock Heger racing side by side for 2 full laps chasing down the leader Mason Prater. Shortly after the mandatory caution Prater made a mistake allowing Christopher to comfortably take the lead. Christopher managed to hold that lead position through the checkered flag taking home the 1st place trophy for the Ford / General Tire / STEEL-IT team.  "I couldn't be happier with the start of the season and to put this Ford Ranger Pro Lite on top of the box in the first race! It has been about a 9-month off season so I had some cobwebs to dust off out there but my crew had the truck dialed for me come race time. I've got to thank Ford and Ford Performance for coming on board this year and believing in the program and in me."  -Christopher Polvoorde

Sunday 7/26 - Round 2

Once again the day was off to a great start with Christopher qualifying with the 2nd fastest lap, which left him starting the afternoon race in the pole position (1st) for the 2nd race of the LOORRS season. Come race time Christopher was mentally ready and set for a great race with him starting in the lead spot! Unfortunately in turn 2 of the first lap Christopher got spun forcing him to take the turn too tight, losing the lead position. While trying to regain ground, Christopher experienced a mechanical failure leading to the truck being towed off the track with a chance to get to the back if the pit crew could fix the issue. The mechanical failure was unable to be fixed leaving Christopher out for the remainder of the race. "I was definitely bummed out about the performance on Sunday, we were set to have a great race but we had some mishaps. All we can do is learn from this and be prepared for the next race. I can't thank my crew and partners enough for all the hard work that was put into the weekend. I'm looking forward to Wheatland next month!" -Christopher Polvoorde See Christopher's Vlog of the Race Weekend HERE on YouTube
