Christopher Polvoorde is Racing the Mint 400 Pro Turbo UTV | Friday - March 6

Christopher is racing The Mint 400 Friday, March 6th at 12:30pm! This will be his second desert race with the Proctor Racing Group / Honda Talon Factory Racing UTV team. Christopher had a successful first event racing the Honda Talon 1000R at King of the Hammers finishing the most abusive race off road race in the US.

For the Mint, Christopher will be racing a brand new Talon that is built on the 4-seat chassis. The longer wheel base will perform better in the open desert than the 2-seat chassis car raced at KOH which needed to be more nimble in the dense rock sections of Johnson Valley.

"I am really looking forward to running this new car through the Nevada desert at the Mint. We have been testing all week and this car is fast!"  -Christopher Polvoorde

About Mint 400 - "The Great American Off-Road Race"

From The Mint 400's website:

"The Mint 400 has held the title of the toughest, most spectacular off-road race in North America since 1968 when it was first run. The race was created by Norm Johnson who was race director through 1974 and a participant from 69 to 82. Initially the race was a public relations event promoting the Mint Hotel’s annual deer hunt. but what started out as hotel promotion soon grew into a legitimate desert race.

The Mint 400 race ended in 1988 after the sale of the Mint however the story continued in 2008 when the Great American Off-Road Race was revived. Bigger badder and better than ever, the Mint 400 is everything that is was and a whole lot more. Given the advances in off-road technology and the ever changing landscape of Las Vegas, the Mint has grown but all the classic elements are still in place."

About Christopher Polvoorde & CP Racing Team

Christopher Polvoorde was born on July 28th, 2000 and raised in the Racing mecca of Southern, CA. From a young age, Christopher had an adventurous spirit and a passion for the outdoors and racing. That passion leads Christopher’s life to this day where you can find him chasing sunsets year around on the hills of Mammoth Mt or the waters of the Colorado River. It helps being surrounded by a team of experts including Christopher’s father Chip Polvoorde, who handles anything and everything, Crew Chief Jimmy Davidson who provides the fastest truck on the course, week in and week out, as well as driving coach and spotter Cory Kruseman, who works with Christopher on his race craft. With Christopher’s natural speed and a team like this, expectations are high. The CP94 team returned to racing in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and added the Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League for 2019 where Christopher swept the whole series winning all 7 series races and the additional Red Bull Pro Lite Championship race making it a perfect 8 for 8 in the Midwest. With all that Christopher has going on it is hard to imagine but he is also a full-time sophomore college student at The University of San Diego on an academic scholarship after finishing high school with a 4.5 GPA. The future is bright for Christopher who takes it all in stride focusing on working hard and enjoying the ride.
